Apparently I am the sister that is horrible at keeping up with my blog. I suppose I will be better when Dave and I have a little one to brag about. Not yet, but hopefully soon.

A Bar on River Street, Savannah GA

So to catch you up to date with the Evangelistas...Dave has been living and working down in Savannah Georgia since October of 2009. It has been a bumpy road for us but we've manager to make it work and he is now finally coming home in about 3 weeks to once again live with his wife. The bright side was I got to visit many times to Savannah and what a beautiful place to have to visit. I loved it there. We also visited Tybee Island many times and went to the beach. Dave even got me to go swimming in the ocean which I have to admit was quite fun. Of course he couldn't get me to go in until I had at least three daiquiris first. After that I was the one leading the way!

When Dave first moved down there he was living in our camper at the KOA about 25-30 minutes from downtown Savannah and he loved it. Dave doesn't need much...that's for sure. In September however I made him bring my camper home so we could go on our annual St. Clawdale Park Labor Day weekend in Evart MI with our friends and at that time he moved into a villa at the KOA. This was a nice change for him because it gave him much more room then our 22 ft camper did.

It worked out perfectly with my job when I went to visit him because my job is pretty much do-able anywhere I am as long as I have a computer, internet conneciton, and a phone. This made it easier for me to visit as much as I wanted because I would just say I was working from home (or my Georgia home). This cut down on me having to use all of my vacation time when I wanted to visit with him. So it wasn't so bad after all.

But now that he is due to come home in a few weeks this should be a nice Christmas for the both of us.

Wedding Photo Collage

Tuesday, December 2, 2008

It has now been almost 3 months since our wonderful wedding and unfortunately we still don't have pictures back yet so in the meantime I decided to post some of our pics from our honeymoon.

We drove up to Glen Arbor and stayed at the Homestead for the first three days and it was beautiful. The leaves we just beginning to change color at that time and they were changing throughout the week.

Our first night we went out dinner and just hung out at one of the town bars and meet some nice locals to chat up the area with. We met the owners of a restaurant called Funistrada in Burdickville (not far from Glen Arbor) which coincidentally we were told by Dave's cousin to go to when we were up there. So we did and let me tell you the food there was wonderful. It is almost worth just taking a trip back up north just to go back and eat there.

Any way our three days in Glen Arbor was nice. We visited many towns in the area, drove on a scenic tour, went to a Casino (I won some money) and Blackstar Winery. Dave even took me golfing one day. For the weekend we drove to Travese City since believe it or not I've never been there. It was too cold to rent any boats to go on the water so we just drove around and went shopping. It was a good time however I think by then we were both homesick and we were ready to come home to begin our new life together.

I will post wedding photos as soon as I get them. Stay tuned!

Okay so as most of you figured out I am horrible at updating my blog. I am so sorry for not staying on top of this. I have my excuses but they are not that good so I will skip all of that.

Now that it's down to just a little over two weeks until the big day I do indeed have a lot to update.

So where to start...First I've had two wonderful bridal showers. The first was given by David's mom, my soon to be mother-in-law, Linda. It was beautiful shower. I met many people that I wish I would have met earlier in my relationship with David but never got the chance to. I realized that day really how great of a of family I am marrying into. So many of Dave's family members and friends of the family came that Sunday afternoon and where so happy to be there. Many of whom I just met and many Dave hasn't seen in a long time however we both left that day feeling so special and loved. It was funny because I was so nervous that morning but when the day was over and we were driving home I felt foolish for how nervous I was. It was pretty much like the same day Dave took me home the first time to meet his Mom, Dad, brothers, sister-in-laws and his nieces and nephews. They too made me feel so welcomed and loved that day that I remember thinking "wow they are great, I would love to have them as a family someday". Well now that is coming true in a little more then two weeks and I just can't wait!

My mother, my aunt and my two sisters threw me my second shower and let me tell you the Ross' girls know how to throw a shower. It was a great day! It know it wasn't easy for them since my twin sister just had her first baby in May and my older sister lives in Virginia but because of the amazing love we all have for each other we always come together when need be no matter what it takes. I am so lucky to have two wonderful sisters and a mother who is not just a mother but a best friend. I really don't know what or where I would be with out them. It was a wonderful shower and a great day!

My bachelorette party was back in the beginning of August and we all went to Put-in-Bay. For those of you that don't know Put-in-Bay is a huge party island in Ohio. I have to say I was nervous about it at first since I am much older now and I can't party like I used to when I was in my early 20's, but I have to say I did pretty well. I guess the number one accomplishment was that I didn't get sick the entire weekend. Now that doesn't mean I did get drunk every night, believe me I did, but I guess in my later years I've became more wise and I now I know when it is time to go to bed. Isn't the saying "nothing good happens after 2am" something we should all live by. Anyway it was an awesome bachlorette party and it was great to hang out with my good friends, some new friends, my mom and most importantly my soon to be sister law Shannon. That chic knows how to party!

Dave's bachelor party is the weekend before the wedding and I know he is looking forward to it. They are all going golfing up north near Gaylord. A weekend of guys and golf you know they will have fun.
This holiday weekend Dave and I decided we would stay home and tie up some loose wedding ends and just spend some quality time together. Dave has been working the past few weeks in Indiana so we haven't seen that much of each other during the work weeks. It is crazy how much I miss him when he is gone but I am grateful that he was been able to come home for the weekends. His job in Indiana is complete this week which is good because then we will be able to stress out together the next few weeks before the big day. Okay well I can stress out and he will be here to calm me down which he is so good at doing.

Well that is about all I can think about for now other then I can't believe how excited I am for this wedding. Hopefully this will make everyone happy for a while. Bare with me and I will do my best to update again soon.

Above are some pics from the bachlorette party!

Dave and I received our engagement pictures and I thought I would share one with you. This was one of my favorites. It turned out pretty good, huh? It was so cold that morning, you can kind of tell with my Rudolph nose. That's okay, it makes me look rosie. Don't we look so cute together?

I can't believe how fast the time is going. It will be one year this Monday that Dave proposed and I thought at that time we had all the time in the world to plan this wedding. Now it feels like crunch time and the stress is setting in. Good stress or exciting stress I guess you can say.

Dave and I just completed our last registry on Sunday just in time for my first Shower invites to go out. Linda, Dave's Mom, is throwing me one in June and my mom and sisters are throwing me one in July. I feel like such a lucky person to have so many wonderful people in my life to help me out with everything.

I picked up my dress a couple weeks ago. It is so beautiful. I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it and then even more when I tried it on for the first time. And I would like to give a special thanks to my mom for buying it for me too! I love you Mom!

Well that is all I can think of for now. Peace out my fellow bloggers!!! - Sara

So, Sara is making me write something. So, instead of B.S.'ing, I might as well come out with it....I haven't done much. For the girl who didn't want the big wedding, she has been wonderful. She's picked up her dress, the bridesmaids are all set with their dresses and shoes. So that leaves me with the limo (simple, but not done), and tux's. Of course, I couldn't pick the tuxedos until the dresses were set. Yeah, it's still on the list. Next is the painful part...deciding which of you we want to invite (ha ha). Time is going quick, so I guess it's time to get to work. Well, at least the registering is done! Anyways, now that I put my two cents in, I am done. Over and out, I am outta here. - Dave's first and last posting (maybe).

Okay, so sorry I haven't updated in a while but things have been pretty hetic at work. We moved our office from Bloomfield Hills to Pontiac a couple of weeks ago and I've been playing catch up ever since. Anyway I had some downtime so I figured I would post the bridemaids dresses that I've finally decided on.

This is the only picture I have, but instead of the white bow they are going to have a fuchsia color sash tied in the back. The fabric is silk dupioni. My sister, Sally, and I had a chance to see this dress in person and it is beautiful. It doesn't have that modern bridemaid dress look to it which I like.

I guess now it off to search for the perfect pair of shoes to match!

My first blog

Okay so I finally gave in and created a blog site. Of course most of you know that Dave and I are in the wonderful process of planning our wedding. And when I say wonderful I mean stressful. I never thought I would be planning a wedding at all let alone one this big. I also kind of figured I would have a small Justice of the Peace wedding but that isn't the case anymore. Dave and I are looking forward to a 300+ guest wedding...the Italian style. I have to say though I can't complain too much because his wonderful mother has been doing most of the work which I am grateful for. She knows what she is doing and I didn't even know where to start.

The plans so far:

Wedding Date: September 13, 2008

We are having our ceremony at The Longacre House in Farmington Hills. If the weather permits then I will be walking down a brick paver walk way to a gazebo in the garden area outside. If rain shall be in the forecast that day (they say that is good luck) then we will have the ceremony inside the old farm house in front of a fireplace. Either way it shall be beautiful. The best part of this location is that we don't have to go anywhere else for pictures because we can take them right there in the garden with all the flowers.

The wedding reception will be at Penna's in Sterling Heights. Dave's parents are very close with the Penna family so we should be treated like royality. We hired the Jerry's Ross Band for the entertainment and we've been assured by many people that we won't be disappointed with them.

We'll that is it for now. We have our engagement pictures coming soon so once I get them I will post them ASAP.

Thanks for stopping in and reading my blog. Stan tuned for more wedding updates.

Arrivederci
